E3 2018: Ubisoft’s Space Junkies Gets New Trailer, Beta This Month

Ubisoft’s Space Junkies may have missed out on the company’s E3 2018 press conference yesterday, but there was some big news all the same.

Namely, a closed beta for the multiplayer VR shooter is coming on June 28th, and you can sign up to take part now via an official website. Check out the brand new trailer below for a glimpse of what to expect.

Space Junkies offers jet pack-fueled, zero gravity multiplayer action inside the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. It doesn’t look too far off of another multiplayer VR space shooter revealed around E3, Echo Combat.

The beta will include four maps to explore and runs until July 2nd. We don’t know when the full game will be releasing just yet.

The VOID Debuts ‘Nicodemus’ Horror Experience

The VOID’s location in Las Vegas is selling tickets for their latest VR attraction — a haunting trip to a World’s Fair in the 1800s.

Nicodemus: Demon of Evanishment is developed by The VOID and Ninja Theory. The VOID previously launched Ghostbusters and Star Wars experiences at a number of locations around the world while offering best-in-class immersive effects to enhance the walk-around VR experience. Nicodemus, though, looks to be a bit more intense.

The VOID’s website lists tickets at around $33 each for the experience in Las Vegas at The Venetian location starting Thursday, June 14. Up to four people can experience it together. Here’s the description of the narrative from The VOID’s website:

In the summer of 1893, the World’s Columbian Exposition – aka the Chicago World’s Fair – was held on the south side of Chicago. Three days before the fair closed, a tragic demonstration in the Electro-Spiritualism Exhibit brought something terrible into our world.

Word spread that an unknown creature was luring guests down to an ‘Evanishment Room’ … from which they never returned. The attractions were quickly and quietly closed. Workmen refused to dismantle the exhibits as the fair died around it. Two months later on January 4th of 1894, strange lights were seen coming from the abandoned exhibit hall.

Through The VOID, travel back to that same night over a hundred and twenty years ago and the decaying Chicago World’s Fair. In groups of four, you will have your choice of six personas (avatars) through which you will discover frights, trials, and adventure around every corner. You will explore, touch and interact with the decaying ruins of the once-hopeful fair. Your goal is simple: explore the abandoned exhibits and don’t get caught by the demon… Nicodemus.

E3 2018: Dark Souls Developer Announces Deracine For PSVR

From Software, the developer of the Dark Souls games, is working on a PSVR game.

Deracine was announced at Sony’s E3 2018 media showcase today. We’re really not sure what to make of it yet other than that a trailer featured two characters in a olden setting and a flower reversing and coming back to life.

We heard a bit of dialogue: “Aren’t you excited? You’re going to be a fairy. And live in the world where time stands still. When nobody can see what you’re up to ever again.”

Yeah, that’s about it. Let’s hope we find out more this week!

E3 2018: Squanch Announces Trover Saves The Universe For PSVR

Accounting developer Squanch Games is bringing on its next VR game, Trover Saves The Universe.

This new title was announced during Sony’s E3 2018 conference today. It looks like it will support both PS4 and the PSVR headset. A brief trailer showed what looked like third-person platforming, mixed with the typically eccentric humor Squanch established in its VR debut.

Squanch is headed up by Justin Roiland of Ricky and Morty fame, which explains the tone.

No release date just yet, though it sounds like a PS4 exclusive.

E3 2018: Ubisoft’s Transference VR Thriller Coming This Fall

We’ve just got our best look at Ubisoft’s Transference yet.

Developer Spectrevision took to the stage of the publisher’s E3 2018 conference today to showcase its psychological thriller, which is coming to both VR and traditional platforms. Introduced by the company’s Elijah Wood, a trailer for the game showed a mix between real-time and CG content.

Explorable VR environments seemed to dramatically shift in front of the player’s eyes as a tense story unfolded. It looks like this will be one you’ll want to check out.

Finally, we saw an official release window for the game – Fall 2018. Nothing more concrete than that right now, sadly.
